We are pleased to share the below message from the Board of Directors of the Canadian Association of Learned Journals:
The CALJ is accepting expressions of interest from people affiliated with the IEA who would be interested in organizing a panel at their 2020 meeting at the Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences, May 30 and 31 in London, Ontario.
CALJ’s Professional Development and Training Committee, which is responsible for putting together the conference program, would very much like to make room for a discussion of particular issues facing Indigenous editors, scholars, and publications.
CALJ does not have a large budget and is therefore not in a position to offer all of its conference participants funding for travel or speakers’ fees. However, we do recognize the particular labor asked of Indigenous presenters in predominantly non-Indigenous organizations, and if a particular form of support such as a small honorarium or partial travel assistance would help make your participation feasible, I would be very happy to take that request to my fellow board members.
If you are interested, please contact, or the Chair of the CALJ Professional Development Committee, Antonia Pop, at

Experience Montreal

Montreal is the second biggest city in Canada.
• It has a long history in the country and it remains a hub of commerce, science, design, arts, food and fashion.
• It’s a UNESCO City of Design.
• The city is known for its art galleries, its restaurants and its fabulous clothing.
• It also has over 100 festivals each year.

The residents of Montreal are almost all bilingual, so you don’t need to know French to get around the city.

Make the most of your time in Montreal: see our local experience web page.
